Too Much at Stake for the Obvious Answer

Commercial Advisory, Business Development and Coaching

The Diagnostic Pause

Some commercial situations have too much at stake for the obvious answer. A deal that must close. A negotiation where the easy compromise would leave value on the table. A contract that doesn’t just protect — but reflects what both parties genuinely want to build together.

Before I act, I want to know what’s really driving that situation – and why now. That pause is where twenty-five years of commercial navigation comes into its own. The best commercial outcomes I’ve seen grow from the same root: a relationship where both sides can be honest about what they really need. Creating that condition – between my client and theirs – is often the most valuable thing I do.

What I do

I advise leadership teams on complex commercial situations – from spotting the opportunity nobody has named yet, to steering the negotiation, to closing the contract that reflects it. Engagements are fixed-fee, tightly scoped, and typically run four to eight weeks. Occasionally, a few months.

Who this works for

I work best with professionally-run, mid-size organizations – companies with a real board and management team, where decisions carry genuine checks and balances.

That structure matters more than the sector: my track record runs deepest in IT services, financial services, utilities, and pharma, but the method travels. Most of my work is across the Nordics, UK, and Benelux.

Let’s talk

If you’re facing a deal, negotiation, or contract that’s too important to leave to the obvious answer, let’s have a conversation. Engagements are fixed-fee, sharply scoped, and typically run four to eight weeks, sometimes a bit longer – no retainer, no interim seat.
